Happy 4th of July from New Milford, CT!

The SizzlerThe fireworks last night went off with a bang, (sorry) they were spectacular! My family enjoyed the carnival, the great food, the fireworks, all a fantastic way to celebrate the 4th of July in New Milford, CT. The town gathered together downtown yesterday for a fun filled day of good music, wonderful food and the spirit of the 4th of July was everywhere.

“I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival.  It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty.  It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.” – John Adams to his wife Abigail Adams on July 3, 1776.

Please do be careful as we are now in a heat wave and a dry spell. Remember the grass is dry and can burn quickly. Keep extra water with you, wear a hat and light colored, loose fitting clothing and most of all ENJOY THE DAY!
